Linux System Administrator – Asheville, NC
Will work as part of the infrastructure team supporting enterprise systems, and will be creating solutions to make the infrastructure operate efficiently and effectively. Duties include:
* Implementing and managing infrastructure via source control, version control, virtualized tests, and continuous monitoring
* Collaborating and assisting to build utilities and tools for internal use to automate and standardize everything (identify automation opportunities)
* Managing and improving our enterprise application platform
* Documenting all relevant work you do on our infrastructure.
6 – 8 years of experience with system administration, and at least 4+ years of experience with administration of various flavors of Linux (Centos/RHEL, Ubuntu). Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Ansible or an equivalent; a deep understanding of server virtualization (RHEV/oVirt, KVM or VMware), networking and storage ensuring that the solution scales and performs with high availability and uptime; and working knowledge of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby), required. Must be familiar with web-based technologies including reverse proxy servers, SSL certificate configuration, and three-tier architecture. Should be familiar with most of the other supporting technology which includes Java, PostgreSQL, MySql, Elasticsearch, Vagrant, Apache, Tomcat, Jenkins, Icinga, and Git.
Must be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badge to enter the applicable government facility.
BS in computer science, related discipline, or equivalent.
