Working directly with other Software Engineers, the Programmer’s role is to write, code, test, and analyze internally developed software applicationsreports. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software applicationsreports.

General Qualifications

Knowledge: 4-year degree computer science or software engineering preferred. Strong working technical knowledge of Visual Basic and Structured Query Language (SQL) for Oracle and SQL Server. 3-5 years experience required.

Experience: Oracle and SQL Server database experience. Knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of single- and multiple-tier data access technologies is a plus. Solid working knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and C#, Windows Scripting, and JavaScript required. Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including ASP, .NET and XML required. Hands-on experience with software troubleshooting required.

Accountabilities

Assist developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications
Prepare and document requirements and specifications for new programs
Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications
Create, troubleshoot, maintain, and modify custom applications using Visual Basic.NET with Microsoft Visual Studio. Most applications will communicate with Oracle or SQL Server databases.
Create, troubleshoot, maintain, and modify SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports using Visual Basic.NET and Microsoft Visual Studio.
Deploy reports to SSRS and manage report processing options, access control, subscriptions, snapshots, data caching, and other report properties.
Use Visual Basic.NET to write scripts to createenhance functionality and appearance of company data warehouse reporting solution (EIS or Executive Dashboard)
Analyze user requirements for reports, forms, queries, and data extraction and develop systems to meet these requirements.
Monitor software performance on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging
Create, troubleshoot, maintain, and modify SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages to extract, transform and load data in Oracle and SQL Server databases.
Deploy, schedule, and manage SSIS packages on the SQL Server database.
Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades
Meet weekly with Business Intelligence team, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
