The City of Asheville is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Information Technology (IT) Services Director (formerly known as Chief Information Officer). The IT Services Director hired by and reporting to the City Manager (with day to day supervision by an Assistant City Manager), will lead the dedicated staff of the City’s IT Services Department as they continue to provide high-level service to both internal customers and the community.

The IT Services Department has a budget of over $4.6 million, an FTE count of 30, and operates under the mission statement of, ‘Empowering Asheville through people, technology and data.’
The department provides a high level of customer service by providing quality technical deliverables with a high level of professionalism and responsiveness. We adhere to principles of technical and fiscal stewardship with an end goal of a high quality of life for employees and citizens.

Master’s Degree in Technology Management, Business Administration, or a related field required; supplemented by ten years of progressively responsible experience in managing information technology services and infrastructure, to include lead or supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Hiring range: $120,000 to $144,106 DOQ, plus a very competitive fringe benefits package.
