INNOVIM, LLC seeks a Senior Level Systems Administrator to support important data systems that are integral to the NOAA Comprehensive Large-Array-Data Stewardship System (CLASS) working out of Asheville, NC.

INNOVIM is committed to providing superior work in the fields of science, engineering and technology to government agencies. CLASS is NOAA’s premiere on-line facility for the distribution of NOAA and US Department of Defense (DoD) Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite (POES) data, NOAA’s Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) data, and derived data.

The successful candidate will work on an integrated team using skills and experience in systems administration to support Linux/Windows environments. The Systems Administrator will have good technical knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise 6+, CentOS 6+, Shared Disk File Systems, Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM), Windows 2008 servers, Active Directory and VMWare.

Other duties include:

Provide Linux and Windows server OS installation, integration, maintenance, and upgrades
Perform system, network and I/O performance monitoring and analysis
Participation in and support of custom software releases and enterprise backups
Participation in racking, cabling, and labeling of new servers in the datacenter
Maintain hardware inventory, work with hardware and software vendors for problem determination and resolution, and handle hardware shipping and receiving of equipment.
Support 24×7 operations environment (ability to support off-hours, weekends, holidays if needed)
Candidates must be US Citizens for appropriate badging at government location.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; 8 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with RHEL 6+ and CentOS 6+ Linux servers and workstations, Windows 2008 servers, Windows 7 desktops, Active Directory, and VMWare products
Understanding of disk-based technologies: RAID, LVM
Understanding of storage area networks (SAN)
Understanding of IT Automation and configuration management tools and concepts. Experience with Ansible preferable.
Familiarity with enterprise backup and configuration management tools and principles.
Understanding of security concepts like Two-factor authentication and Common Access Card (CAC)
Proficient in scripting to automate processes: shell scripts, PERL, python, ruby
Ability to write technical documentation
Ability to lift computer equipment weighing up to 60 pounds
