Controls Engineer

I.              JOB PURPOSE:

To design, engineer, program, system-install, start-up, and debug electrical controls of our material-handling and distribution systems utilized in warehousing operations.   



A.            Develop Controls Engineering resources through mentorship and company process

B.            Managerial oversight of Controls Engineering team

C.            Design, test, installation, and commissioning of software for automated warehouse picking systems

D.            Implements customer and development projects on time and within budget according to functional specifications and the required configuration of the warehouse systems while maintaining exceptional customer service

E.            Coordinate with department managers and team to make sure the project is aligned directly with the approved functional specifications in case there are problems or new features that are requested for the project

F.            Remains current with new technologies to ensure our controls software solutions are leading edge and cost effective

G.            Participates in the various design reviews

H.            Executes test protocols during all project phases

I.              Travels to customer sites to install, troubleshoot tests, and be an active participant to successful customer acceptance

J.             Works with Customer Service to support our installed systems providing the best support to increase customer satisfaction



                A.            Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field highly desired

B.            Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in programming preferably in material handling and automated picking systems

C.            Basic knowledge of Vertique software suite and development practices

D.            Proficiency in HMI software like FTViewSE and ME; Control Logix, Compact Logix, and Guard Logix; proficient in controls networks like DeviceNet and EtherNet
